Avagio recognises its responsibility and has a strong community and social support ethic. Over the years we have been involved in many community and charitable activities.
These have included free IT support and fund raising activity by our staff for The Wiltshire Blind Association. Established more than 90 years ago for servicemen blinded during the Great War, they now support those coming to terms with sight loss, often in later life. They currently support over 1,500 registered blind and partially-sighted people throughout Wiltshire to live as full a life as possible. Their team of dedicated caseworkers provide regular, one-to-one support and home visits. They also offer social clubs, talking books and specialist holidays. More at http://www.wiltshireblind.org
We continue to provide the Wiltshire Blind Association with free IT support, enabling them to lever their IT investment for the benefit of both internal and external customers. Our support over the past 3 years has been worth around £9,000, enabling Wiltshire Blind to serve a further 350 registered blind and partially-sighted people.
In addition, Avagio recognises its responsibility to the natural environment and future generations, and we follow sound recycling practises in terms of IT technology, paper and our business waste.
Each month in 2013 we will invite Avagio clients, through our monthly client newsletter, to nominate a charity of their choice and if it is drawn from all submissions received we will donate a sum commensurate to £10 for every PC or lap top that we sell, in that month. As hardware sales volumes can be volatile Avagio will guarantee a minimum monthly donation of at least £50. There is no cap on the size of the donation.
So over the year we guarantee to donate at least £600 to charities nominated by our clients. Every little helps. If you are a client and wish to nominate a charity please respond to the email address provided in our monthly client newsletter. We look forward to hearing from you.
Our April donation was £70 given to Walter Powell Pre-School in Great Somerford (Charity No. 1035061) a volunteer run, small village pre-school providing fun and education for local 2-5 year olds. Commenting on the donation Fionna Page of nominating Avagio client, First Page Nutrition, said “Many thanks to everyone at Avagio for this donation. It will be very much appreciated by all the staff, children and parents.”
The May donation was £60 and was given to The Andrew & Catherine Carter Trust” (Charity no. 1026825) who provide relief in cases of financial need for disabled persons, helping to buy items that will assist them in living a normal day to day life. Debbie Greenwood, from nominating Avagio client, David Owen and Co, Chartered Accountants, said “We are delighted to have secured this donation to The Andrew & Catherine Carter Trust to assist in their work in providing relief in cases of financial need for people with disabilities.”
